Character and Family History
Family History:
Yondai - Kugutsushi - Elite Jounin - Gandfather [Deceased]
Yondai is Yoshi's grandfather. He studied Monzaemon Chikamatsu's art deeply in his early teen years. Exceptionally interested in the use of puppets, Yondai went through several failed creations and attempts before fairly getting the Kugtusu technique correct. As Yondai progressed through rankings his skill improved. The man began dedicating his life to puppets, Yondai became exceptionally skilled and eventually a Kugutsushi. Died months before Yoshimaru's birth.
Shirai - Kugutsushi - Elite Jounin - Sensei - Uncle [Deceased/Murdered]
Shirai, Yoshimaru's uncle. Brother of Shirou, Yoshi's father. He was a skilled shinobi and puppeteer just as his younger brother was. This was until his Yondi chose him to be the one to fully dedicate to puppetry. Under the teachings of his close but strict father, Shirai too gained the respect of a Kugutsushi. Kind and caring man that felt sorry for his younger brother who was shunned. Saw leaving Suna to train with his nephew as a way to help Yoshi forget about his past.
Shiro - Jounin - Father [Alive]
Shirou, Yoshimaru's father. An arrogant and abusive father. Once a fairly talented puppeteer but gave up on puppetry once his brother was chosen for further training. Jealous rage turned him into a cruel man. Met Koyiki after giving up on puppetry and gaining his Jounin rank. After five years he has claimed to changed and that he would help Yoshi gain the normal life he never had.
Koyuki - Civillian - Mother [Deceased/Murdered]
The affectionate and warm-hearted mother of Kaede & Yoshi. The closest person to Yoshi during his childhood. Deeply cared for her children and disliked the way of the shinobi and puppets. Did her job as a mother, reassuring her child when they were down. She always believed in her son but her death was what mostly caused the insane & rageful drive to become Kugutsushi to merg from Yoshi.
Koyuku - Civillian - Sister [Alive]
Yoshimaru's younger sister, who he was relatively close to. Much like her mother, Koyuku is kind and caring for her brother. She was never beaten by her father because of Yoshimaru's stubborn overprotection. She disagreed with her brother's decision about leaving Sunagakure and attempted to stop him. Though Yoshi still hasn't seen her after five years he doesn't hate her like everyone else.
Character History:
Born into a talented shinobi family and like most kids in a hidden village, Yoshi grew up the way of the shinobi. At about four years of age he started to 'train' with his uncle. It wasn't exactly training though, more of lessons. By teaching and showing the basics of puppetry, Yoshi developed a simple understanding of how puppets worked. No one in the household really minded or paid attention to Shirai's 'teachings', it just looked like some family bonding. Yoshi's father was eventually discouraged by his older brother teaching his own son. It didn't take long for the crazed & jealous man to unleash his rage. On Yoshi's seventh birthday the abuse started.
At first it was just Yoshi that was beaten but once his mother found out she was abused as well. The family stayed quiet and bared the father's horrible treatment to the family. Yoshi didn't stand up for himself but he had the courage to stop his father from beating his sister. The abuse only made an anger within the young boy to develop and grow.
Just before Yoshi entered the academy his father was promoted to Jounin rank and his uncle left to travel. He was an average student and had a couple friends, pretty much a normal kid. One day he saw a puppeteer on the side of the street while walking home from his classes. Amazed by the man's skill, Yoshi started practicing his puppetry while his father was off on missions.
After two years attending the academy, Yoshi's uncle returned and introduced Yoshi to Chakra Threads. The boy attempted the jutsu but of course could not follow through with the threads properly. Soon after his Uncle's visit, tragedy struck. Yoshi's mother came down with a bad sickness that kept her in bed. If this wasn't enough, Yoshimaru's father had also turned to alcohol for support.
There wasn't much the siblings could do for their mother but watch as she suffered. One night Shiro came home from a completed mission with a couple of new friends. All of the loud men were heavily intoxicated and rumbled through the Okaeshi home. Yoshi and his sister were terrifyed, believing someone had broken into their house. Shiro had passed out while his so called friends were stealing most of the household items. Soon enough, the drunkards reached the room where Yoshimaru's sick mother was sleeping in. The boy paniced and hid his sister and himself within a closet, the door slightly opened giving Yoshi a glimpse of the scene.
There were 5 men bulky men hovering around the bed, whispering and grunting words. Koyuku tugged on her older brother's arm asking for a peek. Yoshi's hand twitched as he saw what was happening. The scissors he gripped had fallen out of his hands. The men raped his ill mother and beat her to death. A crying Yoshi covered his sister's eyes and lead her out the house. An old lady found the siblings on the side of the road, only the boy, Yoshimaru, full of tears. Koyuku was oblivious to what had happened that night. Later the kids were reunited with their father. Yoshi didn't take it that well, realizing that it was actually his fathers friends. He found a knife seconds after seeing his father again and attempted to stab him. Koyuku stopped her older brother, injuring herself in the process.
Yoshimaru stayed exceptionally distant from his father from that day. It was hard dealing with his not knowing sister and quiet father after his mother's death. The death was blamed on the illness which was half of what caused loss. Yoshi never did recover from the death, he was the only one who saw & knew the details of what happened that night afterall. Things started to calm down once Yoshi graduated from the academy and Uncle Shirai started living with the family.
Yoshimaru changed as the absence of his mother sunk in. The images of that night flashed back and forth in the young child's mind. It was too much for him to bare and his colorful emotions were soon suppressed, turning Yoshimaru into a cold and heartless boy. His father also changed after their mother's death. He was softer and a quieter person, though this didn't change Yoshi's grudge against him. The boy mastered chakra threads but rarely used them in battle. He was quickly assigned a team. Average shinobi, not that talented, just your normal suna shinobi nothing special. Yoshi looked down on this greatly, he even despised his Jounin sensei.
After his first D-Ranked Mission, Yoshi came home to a strange contraption. It was big, wooden, and looked much like a puppet, infact it was. Much to his surprise, his father came bursting out with chakra threads. The man wanted to teach his son about puppetry. Yoshi didn't see it as trying to repair the family but more of a way to forget about his mother. Unfortunately he would only accept training from his Uncle, even though he used his father's puppet. He was astonished that his father could use such a unique weapon but kept quiet around his father.
It didn't take long for his team to be prepared for the Chuunin Exams, well Yoshimaru at least. Only one of his teammates got through the priliminaries along with him. Though both Yoshi and his teammate lost in the third stage, they were both recived the rank of Chuunin. Just because of Yoshimaru's use of puppetry in battle, he believed himself to be the best. He even called his sensei weak outloud at times. Though his sensei was one of the less inexperienced ones.
Soon after returning home, Yoshimaru walked in on his father throwing away some of his mother's belongings. If you don't know by now, Yoshi scorns anyone that tries to make him or help forget about his mother. In a sudden burst of rage the boy attacked his father with his puppet. It might of been the blunt anger or the fact that his father knew the puppet too well that gave Shiro the power to stop his son easily.
His Uncle Shirai was the one he went to for help and guidence. Seeing how determined the boy was to be strong and how he was still suffering from his mother's death Shirai couldn't help but take him under his wing. Yoshi took what he needed to remember his mother and planned on leaving Sungakure for good. Yoshimaru's father didn't try to stop his son but Koyuku confronted him as he started out the door. In the end the boy left Sungakure with his Uncle to train privately without permisson. Both became offical missing-nin a few weeks later.
While traveling the two fought some considerable opponents. Their journey stopped in Kusagakure no Sato for 2 years. Here Yoshimaru started his immense training, developing new jutsu and learning about poisons. As the second year passed Yoshi eventually combined/created his first puppet, Damashi. He stayed determined to become a Kugutsushi and continued to demand training and lessons from his uncle. The two started moving again, Yoshimaru had turned 15 and step foot on Otogakure. Though everthing might of seemed well, Yoshi was too hasty in his training. Shirai warned him that it would take many years for him to become a true Kugutsushi and that he should be patient. Yoshi refused to believe this and started to think his uncle was turning on him. He became paranoid that his uncle was planning to turn him in. Yoshi always felt held back by others. When his inexperienced sensei didn't teach him any puppet jutsu he felt misleaded. Three years passed while the two were in Oto and Yoshimaru kept his rage in control.
Once creating two puppets and becoming a defintaly talented puppeteer shinobi, Yoshi demanded to go back to Suna. After some convincing the two traveled to Sungakure not knowing what to really do once back. Yoshimaru could sense his uncle's weary about Yoshi's decisions lately. He was right, his uncle was starting to believe becoming a missing-nin just to train was the wrong path to take. Before even reaching Sungakure, Yoshimaru and his uncle were confronted by none other than his Jounin sensei and a couple chuunin. The puppeteer did not allow words to be exchanged, releasing both of his puppets and engaging in battle immediately. The previous sensei continued to apologize and negociate, eventually sending the two chuunin to get Yoshi's father. It was inevitable, Yoshi's sensei quickly fell into a trap after fighting back. Pa-Puru Higi Hitsuresu Finaru left a decapitated body as Yoshimaru's father stepped into the scene.
His uncle was terrifyed at what his apprentice had done, telling him to stop now. Yoshi only gave a devilish grin as his father appeared. His intention was to kill his own father, everyone knew in it was in his eyes. Simply put, Yoshi's puppet charged at his father, blades out. His uncle jumped infront, saving his younger brother at the last second. The man was stabbed to death. Four blades went deep into his chest, the other 3 into his gut. A few minutes of silence passed and Yoshi started to speak. He swore to his father that nothing would get in his way of being a Kugutsushi. Yoshimaru returned to Otogakure, the land he now knew best. A simple outsider really. Possibly looking for a sensei.
Still reaching for his dream of being Kugutsushi.

Damashi - Attack - Primary
--
Damashi, Yoshimaru's primary and favorite puppet. Originally two puppets, Damashi was created from the parts of Yoshi's father's and uncle's puppets. With the combined weapons and power of two puppets in one, Damashi makes for a deadly opponent. This is probably Yoshimaru's most useful and effective puppets; speed and attack being it's strong points. It has a rather strange look to it because of Yoshi's creative thinking. Damashi has two heads, six arms and one leg. The two heads were originally the two heads of his father's and uncle's puppets but Yoshi added a bit of extra 'make-up'. The heads are on a rotating wheel which allows Yoshi to switch the positions and spin them around freely. The appearances of both faces are relatively similar. They both strongly resemble the face of a menpo or a demon. Broad noses, sinister grins, thick mustaches and a rather violent expression. The only noticeable difference is one has longer hair than the other; both heads have a gray hair color. Another strange trait is that both heads each have one horn centered on their forehead. Yoshi can operate these heads to shoot projectiles and release poison. Both heads can detach from the body to be used in Each of Damashi's limbs conceals a poison tipped blade that comes out from the wrists. The blade is about a foot long. The arms (and leg) can extend/stretch out an extra six inches. The leg is actually the same as the arms just slightly bulkier and used to stand. The leg's hand has a small hole in its palm; used to rapidly fire senbon needles. The leg can also detach from the body and be 'shot' towards the enemy at pretty high speeds. Damashi is a fairly simple yet handy weapon. Its body has no real combat use but Yoshimaru's always trying to think of something new. Its shape is some what stalky but Damashi is frequently hunched over or sitting.
Oni - Attack - Secondary
--
Oni is Yoshimaru's secondary puppet that was also created by none other than himself. Like the name says, Oni looks like an ogre but this is ironic because Damashi has the faces of what an Oni would look like. Unlike Damashi, Oni has a much more broad and ample appearance. Yoshimaru tried to focus on strong physical attacks being delivered with Oni and a bit of explosives as well. Oni has four arms and two short legs, not too out of the box. His head has a wooden 'straw' hat on it, a wide opening mouth, and one eye. The large mouth can fire projectiles and explosives. Oni's arms, like Damashi's can also dismount and shoot. Though the arms have no blades accompanied with them, the large fists still do the job. Though Oni might also seem simple, he is the a vital peice to the lethal Pa-Puru Higi Hitsuresu Finaru Jutsu.
Poison Release System - Installed in Damashi
--
A poison release system is built into the puppet Damashi. With this, Damashi can spray amounts of poison gas from his mouth. Yoshi can simply pull one of his chakra strings to operate the system.
Poison
--
The poison Yoshimaru has created can be mixed into two forms. Liquid and gas; both forms just as potent. They have a dark purple color to them. It's easy for the infection to spread but there has to be a certain amount delivered into the body. If there is a small cut nothing will happen, if you're slashed or recieve a gash then the poison can easily enter your body. Also if you inhale a breath of the gas, it can spread through inside you quickly. The affects can be fatal and go through a few stages. The first stage after the poison is taken in, it will attack the lungs. This causes heavy breathing and usually coughing. The second stage is a little more advanced, the poison spreading throughout your nerves and eventually parts of your brain. At this stage numbness occurs and soon hallucination. The lungs are still hurt therefore making an impact on your body's defenses, your internal body temperature rises drastically. At stage three of the poison's affect, it goes for your heart but only causes it to beat slower. Your body seems to work slower. This is pretty much the aftermath of the poison, slowly. If you don't get medical attention or an antidote by stage three, you only have a few days to live. Yoshi always carries a few antidotes.

Jutsu:
Name: Pa-Puru Higi Hitsuresu Finaru [Purple Secret Technique Headless Finale]
Type: Ninjutsu
Description: Yoshimaru uses Kugutsu no Jutsu, Oni and Damashi for this jutsu. By distracting or manuvering the target towards Oni, Oni will open its chest cavity and 'swoop' the opponent in. While the opponent is being captured, Oni's head is removed leaving the opponent's head vulnerable and trapped. Yoshi then uses his threads to detach the heads of Damashi. With three heads in the air Yoshi starts his true attack. Sending the heads of Damashi down first, the blades will jab into the slots diagonally. The blades sink into the opponent's neck and because of the body of the puppets position, the head rolls off. After the decapitation Oni's original head is put back in place, the headless body disposed later.
B-Rank
Name: Kugutsu no Jutsu [Puppet Technique]
Type: Ninjutsu
Description: This technique simply attaches charka strings to a puppet, allowing the user to control it. The chakra strings can extend to various lengths, the total length being limited by the skill of the user. The amount of chakra stings is also limited by the user's skill.
C-Rank
Name: Chakra no Ito [Chakra Strings]
Type: Ninjutsu
Description: Chakra no Ito is a Ninjutsu technique required by all puppeteers. First the user will focus chakra to there hands then the ninja will create threads of chakra which will start from their fingers and extend outwards. These threads can then be placed on almost any object. Such as puppets, kunais and other inanimate objects.
C-Rank
Name: Kugutsu Henge [Puppet Transformation]
Type: Ninjutsu
Description: This technique changes the appearance of a puppet into whatever the user desires, making it useful for confusing an opponent.
C-Rank
Name: Kugutsu Kawarimi [Puppet Substitution]
Type: Ninjutsu
Description: This technique can only be used once in battle, as it requires the puppet to be disguised as its master. With it, the puppeteer switches places with their disguised puppet, making their opponent believe that that the puppet is the master. Once the opponent unwittingly gets close, usually enough to cause fatal damage, they are too close to avoid the puppet's counterattack. Because the puppet's disguise is usually lost after this, it can't be used again.

C-Rank
