It was a cold, gloomy, and rainy day in Otogakure no Sato. There was hardly anyone found out and about, especially at the park on such a day. Except on one lone park bench, sat a young girl, Maruyama Hikari. She loved the peaceful nature of the rain and the chill of the air. Hikari had been sitting there before daylight, or as much of it as there was. It was somewhere around seven in the morning, and just like most days, the young jounin was up and about. She had always been awake before most and stayed up later than most as well. Sleep was nothing more than a bother to the girl as she would much rather to be able to be without it. Unfortunately, she did get tired eventually and would be forced to rest.
It had rained most of the night and Hikari had been up for just about that entire time. To her, the rain was the most relaxing thing that she had ever experienced in her life filled with nothing but training, hard work, and serving Orochimaru. It was the one time she felt at peace with everything and that she didn't have any responsibility or cares in the world. She was wearing her usual attire that most would catch cold in out in that type of environment. Luckily for her, becoming ill was never something that had affected her as she was rarely ill. That was one of the good things that she had received from the whole birth process. The other, well there weren't many as the blindness ruined most things. The facts that she would never be able to see the faces of so many things, people, flowers, the sky, the rain. Things like these were always troubling her mind, but she came to living with that fact.
"It's such a lovely day out today." The girl quietly said aloud to herself with a faint smile on that ever timid face. "And yet there's no one to share it with." She continued on even quieter than most if anyone could hear followed by a brief sigh and look of depression. As she sat there with that look of depression upon her face, he head hung a little low, hands folded upon her lap, she started to have brief memories of her past. The happier times in her life. She quickly removed those memories from her mind as she knew that it was in the past and she needed to move on.
For many hours that young girl continued to sit there for hours becoming soaked in the rain not once hearing a passing footstep. She had adjusted herself to sit on the right side of the park bench, legs crossed, and hands still folded on top of her lap. There were no missions to do and she still had yet received word on what three genin would be apart of her team cell. So until she had received word on who would be her team, she was taking a break for once. Doing something for herself like she never had before. Sitting, thinking, relaxing and just enjoying the peace of hearing each individual rain drop splashing in the puddles in the grass. This is what the lonely girl had done on few other occasions and she just couldn't pass this opportunity up. Sitting in the rain might not have been fun for most or anyone aside from her, but that was something that Maruyama Hikari enjoyed.
